Lamentations 3:22-26

My pastor challenges our congregation routinely to memorize scripture.  This is an excellent way to meditate on the Word.  Lamentations 3:22-26 are the ones I have chose to memorize and meditate on for the near future.  These are wonderful words of encouragement for God's children.  The CAPS are the verse and the other is my interpretation and thoughts.

THE FAITHFUL LOVE OF THE LORD NEVER ENDS!

We can rest in the fact that God's Love has existed from before time and will continue after the end of time throughout eternity.  Love is God's character - God is LOVE. (1 John 4:8)

HIS MERCIES NEVER CEASE!

Mercy is unmerited favor.  We don't have to earn His favor. His favor is always available to us if we choose to be in fellowship with Him.  Mercy is also not receiving what we deserve.

GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS

He is the one who is always faithful.  He will never abandon us when we look to Him.  He is trustworthy.  He always has our best interest at heart.

HIS MERCIES ARE FRESH EACH MORNING.

No matter how bad we mess up - His mercy is waiting for us.  We break His heart - He does get angry when we sin - but true to His nature - He is forgiving and merciful.  He gathers us back to Himself with tender mercies (Isaiah 54:7-8). Our part is to run to Him in repentance and He will always receive us back to Himself.

I SAY TO MYSELF - "THE LORD IS MY INHERITANCE - THEREFORE I WILL HOPE IN HIM!"

Trusting in God is a decision on our part.  It has to be made with a head knowledge even when our heart is failing us.  The Lord God is all we need - He is our inheritance (something from the past that is important) and He can sustain us.  He is all we need to have joy and peace in this life.  HOPE gives us strength to carry on in JOY. These are the true treasures of life.

THE LORD IS GOOD TO THOSE WHO DEPEND ON HIM - TO THOSE WHO SEARCH FOR HIM.

The Lord is good always - but only those who trust in Him and diligently seek Him will truly know the goodness of God. We must be proactive in our pursuit of Him.

SO IT IS GOOD TO WAIT QUIETLY FOR SALVATION FROM THE LORD!

Be still and wait quietly.  This world is busy and it is difficult to quiet ourselves before the Lord. Find that time and place where you can engage with God in meditation on His word, prayer and reflection. Don't be busy solving your problems - or asking Him to solve your problems.  Let this be a time a Thanksgiving and worship.  Allow God to unfold His plan which may look completely different than what you imagine or think.
